- Despite their common name, not all Green Iguanas are green—some can be blue, red, orange, or even lavender depending on age, location, and mood.
- Green Iguanas have a third eye on the top of their head called a parietal eye, which detects light changes and movement. They can shed their tails to escape predators and regrow them over time. These lizards can fall from heights of over 15 meters (50 feet) without injury.
