- Despite their slow movements on land, Green Sea Turtles can swim at speeds up to 35 km/h (22 mph) in short bursts when threatened.
- Green Sea Turtles can travel thousands of kilometers between nesting and feeding sites. Unlike many other sea turtles, adults are mainly plant eaters, helping maintain healthy seagrass ecosystems. Females return to the exact beach where they were born to lay their eggs, a phenomenon known as natal homing.
