Despite their small size, green tiger beetles can run so fast that their eyes can't process images quickly enough, causing them to stop frequently while hunting.
Green tiger beetles are among the fastest running insects in the world. Their larvae are ambush predators, hiding in burrows to catch unsuspecting prey. Adults can often be seen basking in the sun due to their preference for warm, open habitats.
