- Despite their name, Green Tree Pythons are not closely related to true pythons but show remarkable convergent evolution with the emerald tree boa of South America.
- Green Tree Pythons are experts at camouflage, blending seamlessly with foliage to avoid predators and ambush prey. They possess heat-sensitive pits along their jaws, allowing them to detect warm-blooded prey even in complete darkness. Unlike most snakes, females exhibit maternal care by coiling around their eggs to regulate temperature and humidity.
