- Unlike many badgers, hog badgers are often active during the day (diurnal) as well as at night.
- Hog badgers are named for their pig-like snout and rooting habits, which are unusual among badgers. They are one of the few badger species found in Asia and have a reputation for being fearless, sometimes confronting much larger animals.
