- Despite being large and noisy, horned screamers are excellent swimmers and often spend much of their time wading through water in search of food.
- Horned screamers are one of only three species in the screamer family (Anhimidae), and their unique horn is made of keratin, the same substance as human fingernails. Their bones are filled with air, making them surprisingly lightweight for their size.
