- Kaiser’s Newt is found naturally in just four small streams, making its wild population exceptionally vulnerable to environmental changes.
- Kaiser’s Newt is known for its vivid coloration, which acts as a warning to predators about its mild skin toxins. Unlike many newts, it is almost entirely aquatic during the breeding season but can be terrestrial outside of it. The species was only scientifically described in 1979, making it a relatively recent discovery.
