- Kangaroo rats can live their entire lives without ever drinking liquid water, getting all the moisture they need from seeds and metabolic processes.
- Kangaroo rats can jump up to 2 meters in a single leap. They close their burrows during the day to retain moisture and avoid the heat. Their kidneys are highly efficient, allowing them to conserve water better than most mammals.
