- Kissing Bugs transmit Chagas disease not through their bite, but via their feces, which can enter the body through the bite wound or mucous membranes.
- Kissing Bugs get their name from their habit of biting people on the face; they are expert at hiding in tiny cracks during the day. Some species of Kissing Bugs can survive for months without feeding. Their bites can cause allergic reactions in some people.
