Did you know?
- Despite being called 'koala bears,' koalas are not bears at allβthey are marsupials, carrying their young in a pouch.
- Koalas sleep up to 18-22 hours a day due to their low-energy diet of eucalyptus leaves. Each koala has a unique pattern on its nose, much like a human fingerprint. Koalas have a highly specialized digestive system, including a long cecum, to break down toxic compounds in eucalyptus leaves.
