- Despite their small size, Kowaris are formidable hunters that can take down prey nearly their own size using their strong jaws and sharp teeth.
- Kowaris have a distinctive black-tipped tail that they use for balance during high-speed chases. Unlike many marsupials, they do not have a true pouch—their young cling to the mother’s underside. They are expert diggers, often modifying and using burrows created by other animals.
