- Unlike many geckos, the Kwangsi gecko cannot climb smooth vertical surfaces because it lacks adhesive toe pads.
- Kwangsi geckos possess vertical pupils suited for night vision and can shed their tails to escape predators. They are part of a genus known as 'cave geckos' due to their preference for dark, humid microhabitats.
