- Leopard seals can open their jaws almost 160 degrees, allowing them to capture large and agile prey with ease.
- Leopard seals are the only species of seal known to regularly hunt warm-blooded prey, including penguins and other seals. They have a unique, eerie vocalization that can be heard underwater for long distances. Despite their fearsome reputation, they are sometimes curious towards humans and have approached divers without showing aggression.
