- Despite their mouse-like appearance, jerboas are more closely related to jumping mice and birch mice than to true mice or rats.
- Jerboas can leap up to 3 meters in a single jump, far exceeding their body length. They rarely drink water, getting almost all their moisture from plants and seeds. Their long tails help them balance while hopping at high speeds.
