- Little Blue Penguins often return to the exact same nesting site and even the same burrow year after year.
- Little Blue Penguins are nocturnal on land, returning to their colonies only after dusk to avoid predators. They can swim at speeds up to 6 km/h and spend most of their day hunting small fish and squid at sea. Despite their small stature, they are excellent divers, reaching depths of over 60 meters.
