- Despite looking mouse-like, the long-eared jerboa is more closely related to gerbils than to mice or rats.
- Long-eared jerboas can leap up to 3 meters in a single bound, an impressive feat for such a tiny animal. Their ears are about one-third longer than their head, giving them the largest ear-to-body ratio among mammals. They are so elusive that footage of them in the wild is exceedingly rare.
