- Unlike many lizards, the Long-Nosed Leopard Lizard can leap several times its body length to ambush prey or escape danger.
- Long-Nosed Leopard Lizards can inflate their bodies and open their mouths wide to appear larger when threatened. They are capable of running on their hind legs for short distances. During hot midday hours, they retreat underground to escape the desert heat.
