- Magnificent Frigatebirds can stay aloft for weeks at a time without landing, sometimes sleeping while gliding in the air.
- It is a seabird that will drown if it lands on the sea — its feathers are not waterproof. It steals food by harassing other seabirds in the air until they vomit up their catch, then catches it before it hits the water. It can stay airborne for weeks or months at a time, sleeping on the wing with one half of its brain at a time. The male courts by inflating a huge scarlet throat pouch and drumming on it.
