- Unlike many sea slugs, the Mandarinfish Sea Slug cannot photosynthesize and must actively hunt for small invertebrates to survive.
- Mandarinfish Sea Slugs possess chemical defenses that make them distasteful to predators. They are often confused with the Mandarinfish due to their vivid coloration, despite being entirely different animals. These sea slugs are hermaphroditic, meaning each individual has both male and female reproductive organs.
