- A mantis shrimp’s punch accelerates as fast as a bullet, briefly causing water to boil through a process called supercavitation.
- Mantis shrimp strike with such speed that they can break glass aquarium walls. Their eyes can independently move and perceive 12 to 16 color channels, compared to just three in humans. Some species are called 'spearers' and others 'smashers' based on their hunting appendages.
