Did you know?
- Marbled Newt larvae have external gills and look very different from adults until they metamorphose after several months.
- Male Marbled Newts grow a spectacular crest that can nearly double their apparent height during breeding season. These newts can remain dormant underground during hot or dry weather, emerging only when conditions are moist. Despite their vivid appearance, their marbled pattern provides excellent camouflage among leaf litter and aquatic plants.
