Matschie's Tree Kangaroo is one of only about 2,500 individuals remaining in the wild, making it one of the rarest kangaroos in the world.
Matschie's Tree Kangaroo can leap up to 9 meters (30 feet) from tree to tree. Unlike other kangaroos, it has a tail almost as long as its body, providing balance while climbing. Its stomach is specially adapted to digest tough leaves and fibrous plant material.
