- Despite their intimidating tusks, narwhals have no functional teeth in their mouths and swallow prey whole.
- Narwhals are sometimes called the 'unicorns of the sea' due to their iconic tusks. Their tusks are actually elongated canine teeth, which can grow up to 3 meters long. Narwhals can spend up to 25 minutes underwater on a single breath.
