- Nile crocodiles can go for months without eating by slowing their metabolism, especially during dry seasons.
- Nile crocodiles have the strongest bite force of any living animal. They are known to practice cooperative hunting, especially during the migration of large herds. Females are fiercely protective of their nests and young, sometimes carrying hatchlings to the water in their mouths.
