- Northern Leopard Frogs were once widely used in medical research and as a source of frog legs for culinary purposes.
- Northern Leopard Frogs are capable of making impressive leaps, sometimes spanning more than three feet in a single bound. During winter, they hibernate underwater, partially buried in mud at the bottom of ponds. Their distinctive 'snore-like' call can be heard during the breeding season in spring.
