- A female Northern Snakehead can lay up to 100,000 eggs per year, making it highly capable of establishing new populations rapidly.
- Snakeheads can breathe atmospheric air using a specialized suprabranchial organ, allowing them to survive out of water for up to four days. They are known to migrate over land in search of new water sources. Snakeheads are also valued in some cultures for food and traditional medicine.
