- The Norwich Terrier and the Norfolk Terrier were once considered the same breed and only officially separated in 1964, with ear shape being the primary distinguishing feature.
- Norwich Terriers are one of only two breeds with prick ears recognized by the AKC terrier group. They have a distinctive bark and were bred to work in packs with other terriers. Their friendly demeanor makes them popular as both family pets and show dogs.
