- The Opah can elevate its body temperature up to 5°C (9°F) above the surrounding water, allowing it to hunt more effectively in cold, deep waters.
- Moonfish are the only known fully warm-blooded fish; their large pectoral fins enable swift, agile swimming; they are often caught as bycatch in tuna fisheries.
