- Oceanic Squids undertake extensive vertical migrations, traveling hundreds of meters up and down the water column daily to hunt and avoid predators.
- Oceanic Squids are capable of bioluminescence, emitting light from special organs to communicate and evade predators. They are also known for their jet propulsion, quickly expelling water to move at high speeds. Some species, like the Neon Flying Squid, can glide above the surface of the ocean for several meters.
