- Ocellated Nudibranchs derive their name from the eye-like spots on their bodies, which may help deter predators. They are hermaphroditic, possessing both male and female reproductive organs, and often engage in reciprocal mating. Their vivid coloration is a warning signal to potential predators about their unpalatability.
