- Despite being the most abundant sea turtle species, olive ridleys are still considered vulnerable due to drastic population declines from human threats.
- Olive ridley sea turtles are known for synchronized nesting in huge groups called arribadas. They can dive up to 150 meters in search of food and are among the few sea turtles that nest both individually and en masse. Their carapace is relatively thin and flexible compared to other sea turtles.
