Did you know?
- The Orange-tip’s eggs are laid singly on flower buds, as the caterpillars will often eat any siblings they encounter!
- Male Orange-tips are among the first butterflies seen in spring, often spotted fluttering rapidly along hedgerows. Their green mottled underwings provide excellent camouflage when at rest. The caterpillars are cannibalistic and may eat each other if food is scarce.
