- Orangutans share approximately 97% of their DNA with humans, making them one of our closest living relatives in the animal kingdom.
- Orangutans are the only great apes found in Asia and are the most arboreal of all great apes. They have been observed using leaves as umbrellas and gloves, and even crafting tools to extract insects or seeds. Each night, orangutans build a new nest high in the trees for sleeping.
