- Pacific halibut can live for more than 50 years, with some individuals documented at over 70 years old.
- Pacific halibut can grow to over 2.5 meters (8 feet) in length, making them one of the largest flatfish in the world. They undergo a dramatic transformation during development, where one eye migrates to the other side of the head. These fish can travel hundreds of kilometers between feeding and spawning grounds each year.
