- Pangolin Tree Shrews can consume the equivalent of 10-12 glasses of wine per night (by human standards) without showing signs of intoxication.
- The Pangolin Tree Shrew is the only mammal known to regularly consume fermented nectar with high alcohol content in the wild. Its tail is covered in stiff, scale-like hairs that give it a pangolin-like appearance. Despite its name, it is not closely related to either pangolins or true shrews.
