- Peach Blossom Jellyfish are among the only freshwater jellyfish species in the world, with most of their relatives living exclusively in marine environments.
- Peach Blossom Jellies can appear suddenly in bodies of water where they were previously undetected, often after years of absence. Despite being jellyfish, they are related to hydras and are not true marine jellies. Their medusa stage is only present for a short period each year, making their blooms unpredictable.
