- Despite their delicate appearance, pearl gouramis are quite hardy and can tolerate a range of freshwater conditions.
- Pearl gouramis can breathe atmospheric air thanks to a specialized labyrinth organ. Males build bubble nests at the water's surface to attract females and protect eggs. They communicate with subtle croaking and clicking sounds, especially during breeding.
