- Despite their striking appearance, Pink Cockatoos are rarely seen in large flocks and are considered one of the more elusive Australian parrots.
- The Pink Cockatoo is famous for its spectacularly colored crest, which it fans dramatically when excited or alarmed. Unlike other cockatoos, it is highly selective about its nesting sites and often returns to the same hollow year after year. Its calls are often described as haunting and flute-like, echoing over the outback landscape.
