- Pintado Catfish undertake seasonal migrations during the rainy season, traveling long distances to spawn in flooded areas.
- Pintado Catfish can grow over 1.5 meters long, making them one of the largest catfish in South America. Their unique spotted pattern provides excellent camouflage among submerged roots and branches. These catfish have long, sensitive barbels that help them locate prey even in complete darkness.
