- Despite their playful demeanor, Polish Lowland Sheepdogs are renowned for being vigilant watchdogs. Their long bangs often cover their eyes, but these dogs are highly alert and responsive to their environment. The breed's nickname in Poland is 'PON,' which stands for 'Polski Owczarek Nizinny.'
