- Pom-pom Crabs can 'clone' their anemones by splitting them in half, ensuring they always have a pair of their signature pom-poms.
- Pom-pom Crabs use their anemones as both weapons and tools, waving them to ward off predators and gather food particles. The relationship between the crab and the anemones is a rare example of mutualism among crustaceans. If a crab loses one of its anemones, it can split the remaining one in two, and both halves will regenerate into full anemones.
