- Despite its tiny size, the pygmy leaf chameleon can hunt and eat insects nearly as large as its own head!
- The pygmy leaf chameleon can be as small as a thumbnail and is an expert at camouflage. Unlike most chameleons, it does not change color dramatically, relying instead on its leaf-like appearance for protection. Its tail is non-prehensile, which is unusual among chameleons.
