- Despite their slow movement, queen conchs can travel considerable distances by 'leaping' forward using their strong foot.
- Queen conchs are able to produce a loud, trumpet-like sound by blowing through their shells. Their shells have been used for centuries as musical instruments, jewelry, and decorative items. Juvenile queen conchs can bury themselves in sand to avoid predators.
