- Before eating a bee or wasp, the Rainbow Bee-eater skillfully removes the sting by repeatedly hitting the insect against a hard surface.
- Rainbow Bee-eaters are immune to bee and wasp stings, allowing them to eat these insects with ease. They nest in burrows dug by both parents, often in sandy banks. During migration, they can travel thousands of kilometers across Australia and into Southeast Asia.
