- Despite their small size, red-handed tamarins can produce loud, piercing calls that carry through the dense rainforest to communicate with group members or warn of predators.
- Red-handed Tamarins are capable of leaping up to 18 meters (59 feet) from tree to tree. They often form mixed-species groups with other tamarin species for added protection. These tamarins exhibit cooperative parenting, with males and other group members helping to care for infants.
