- Despite their fragile appearance, Reticulated Glass Frogs can leap impressive distances to escape threats or reach new perches.
- You can see its heart beating through the skin of its belly. When it sleeps, it packs almost all its red blood cells into its liver — which is mirrored to hide them — making it two to three times more transparent. That should cause fatal clotting, and somehow it does not, which is why medical researchers are studying it. Males guard the eggs, laid on leaves so hatching tadpoles drop into the stream below.
