- Despite their hunting heritage, Rhodesian Ridgebacks are known for being quiet dogs that rarely bark without reason.
- The Rhodesian Ridgeback was initially bred to hunt lions and large game in Africa. The breed is well-known for its remarkable endurance and ability to withstand harsh climates. The ridge on their back is caused by a genetic mutation unique to this breed and a few others.
