- Ring-tailed lemurs have scent glands on their wrists and chests, and males engage in 'stink fights' by waving their scented tails at rivals.
- Ring-tailed lemurs communicate using over 28 different vocalizations. Their tails, which are longer than their bodies, are used for group cohesion and display during territorial disputes. They are one of the few lemur species that regularly spend time on the ground.
