- The Rosy Boa is one of only two boa species native to the United States, the other being the Rubber Boa.
- Rosy Boas can roll into a tight ball when threatened, hiding their heads under their coils for protection. Unlike most other snakes, they are able to go for months without food, especially during colder periods. Their gentle nature makes them one of the most popular pet snakes in North America.
