- The rosy wolf snail has caused the extinction of dozens of native snail species in places where it was introduced as a biological control agent.
- Rosy wolf snails are among the fastest land snails, actively hunting their prey by following slime trails. They have an extensible body that allows them to squeeze into tight spaces, giving them an advantage over their slower, less agile prey. Their introduction to Pacific islands is a cautionary tale in invasive species management.
